Time to (not) party!

Updated: Dec 9, 2021

So today we saw the footage of mp’s making jokes about the non party held last Christmas, probably around the time that covid was rapidly going through my body getting ready to attack! We weren’t allowed to go out to socialise and my family more to the point my husband had to watch the paramedics take me away on my own as I couldn’t have him by my side a week or so later! then when that doctor came over to me to tell me I was probably going to die my husband wasn’t with me to hold my hand, or tell me I could fight it. because of that I had to talk to him on the phone as they put me into an induced coma. He felt helpless.

Does this make me angry? Yes. Do I think is unfair? Yes. Yes I do. Although I still believe that the rules that were in place at the time were the best thing we could do to try and slow down the spread.

This is because I don’t take the advice of the government. I listen to the experts, the scientists, the nurses, and the doctors that saved me. Some will say well you got it anyway. And yes I did, but I truly believe that if we had been given the chance to have the vaccine earlier I would have had it. I would have happily been first in line because I was wishing for it so I could protect my kids, more to the point my asthmatic son.

What I fear will now happen is the people who may be on the fence about mask wearing or vaccines, or god forbid the anti and it’s against my human rights vaxers will use this as an excuse to get their misinformed points across and sway the undecided. The people that say well if they don’t follow the rules then why should I?!

And I sort of see their point. All I can say to that is do you own well educated research. By well I educated I mean real scientists, real doctors and nurses. People who have actual qualifications and experience.

Please please remember that at the root of all this, it’s not a political issue. It’s about protecting yourselves and others.

All we can and should all do is our best to protect ourselves.

Wear a mask so when your sat at the Christmas dinner table opposite your auntie who may be more vulnerable, you don’t breathe covid over them that you bought home from bluewater but haven’t had symptoms for yet. For the same reason do a test before you mix with anyone vulnerable then do it regularly.

We need to look after each other regardless of wether the government follow their own rules or not.

Follow the science not the politics.

I’m am actually hoping for a lockdown. Even just a couple of weeks. There’s just too much ‘stuff’ and it’s feels like boiling point and a lockdown gives the country a chance to calm. I know it’s difficult for business and I hope those that need it get support but if we don’t do this our NHS won’t be able to cope. If we need them we’ll really want them to be able to cope with us 🥲
